RioCan is a leading Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) in Canada, and we're seeking an experienced Environmental Risk Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Sustainability team, you will be responsible for overseeing environmental risk management across our national portfolio, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and developing strategies to minimize our environmental footprint.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement environmental risk management frameworks and policies
  • Collaborate with internal departments to navigate environmental risk and compliance issues
  • Work with external counsel and consultants to ensure environmental requirements are met
  • Regularly review and update environmental reporting to manage risk and ensure compliance
  • Oversee the administration of an environmental compliance database and identify material environmental risks and opportunities
Requirements:
  • University education in Environmental Sciences and a relevant Professional Designation
  • 6+ years of relevant work experience
  • Experience in developing and implementing Environmental Management Systems (EMS)
  • Proven ability to communicate with senior leadership on complex files
  • Knowledge of environmental statutes and regulations
