Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Accounting and Bookkeeping Specialist to join our team at Irvin Accounting & Tax Services. As a key member of our accounting department, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and performing various bookkeeping tasks.

Responsibilities:
  • Calculate and prepare cheques for payroll in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Maintain general ledgers and financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
  • Post journal entries, reconcile accounts, and prepare trial balance of books.
  • Prepare other statistical, financial, and accounting reports as required by management.
  • Prepare tax returns and maintain accurate financial records.
Requirements:
  • Degree or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years (College, CEGEP, or equivalent).
  • At least 1 year of experience in accounting and bookkeeping, preferably in a similar role.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients and colleagues.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Familiarity with manual and computerized bookkeeping systems, including software such as QuickBooks.
