About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Architect to join our team at Scotiabank. As a Business Architect, you will play a key role in contributing to the overall success of Global Risk Management (GRM) by executing individual goals, plans, and initiatives in support of the team's business strategies and objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop End-to-End Business Architecture: Contribute to the development of business architecture with target state business capabilities, operating models, and business strategy across GRM.
  • Ensure Compliance: Ensure all conducted activities comply with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.
  • Update Business Architecture Assessment Templates: Update and maintain business architecture assessment templates with accurate and complete input.
  • Analyze Business Impacts: Analyze to identify impacts and insights to support business architecture assessments.
  • Develop Business Architecture Models: Develop and refine business architecture models, such as business capability maturity models and strategic roadmaps, following enterprise and industry standards.
  • Facilitate Stakeholder Sessions: Facilitate sessions with stakeholders for business process documentation and assessment clarification.
  • Build Business Knowledge: Build knowledge of business processes, business capabilities, and systems across GRM domains.
  • Identify Opportunities for Rationalization: Identify opportunities for rationalization, transformation, and simplification.
  • Store Artifacts: Store all artifacts in a central business architecture repository.
  • Understand Risk Appetite: Understand the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
Requirements
  • 3+ Years Analyst Experience: 3+ years Analyst experience, preferably experience in Business Architecture or GRM.
  • Business Architecture Certification: Business Architecture Certification is an asset.
  • Adaptable Learner: Adaptable learner with a strong grasp of business and technology, open to new challenges.
  • Clear Communicator: Clear communicator, proficient in Microsoft Office tools (PowerPoint, Excel, Visio) and presenting ideas.
