Job Title: Trailer Technician

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Trailer Technician to join our team at Maxim Truck and Trailer. As a Trailer Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing heavy-duty trailers to ensure customer satisfaction and profits for our company.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct repairs and services on heavy-duty trailers under the direction of the Shop Foreman.
  • Test and inspect repairs to ensure quality of work.
  • Determine unit issues through thorough diagnostics.
  • Record information on all work orders, including serial numbers, parts used, and repairs completed.
  • Maintain company tools and equipment, and ensure a safe work environment.

Requirements:

  • 3rd Level Apprentice to Journeyman designation or equivalent experience.
  • Welding and fabricating skills are a strong asset.
  • Body panel replacement experience is an asset.
  • Cross member and floor repair, suspension, and axle repair experience is an asset.
  • Trailer interior dry and reefer experience is an asset.
  • Government Safety Inspection Certificate is an asset and will become required.
  • Interest in continually upgrading skills and knowledge in the trade.
  • Valid Class 1 with Air Driver's License is an asset for road testing.
  • Positive attitude and team player.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving ability.
  • Basic computer knowledge and ability to learn in-house programs.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Familiar with tools of the trade and personally equipped with an adequate supply of hand tools.
