About the Opportunity:
We are seeking a skilled Academic Communication Instructor to join our team at the University of Toronto. This is an exciting opportunity for an educator to work with English Language Learners and help them develop critical thinking, reading, writing, and oral communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare engaging and interactive materials for practicum sessions.
- Provide constructive feedback and encouragement to students.
- Lead in-person practicum sessions and conduct office hours.
- Grade projects, assignments, oral presentations, and reflective journals.
- Facilitate discussions and stimulate critical thinking skills.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in a relevant field.
- 3+ years of experience teaching at a university.
- Evidence of ability to support critical thinking and academic communication skills.
- Experience teaching writing and grammar.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with online environments and Canvas.
- Training in education or applied linguistics.
- Demonstrated ability to create a lively learning environment.
