About the Role

Villaguer Construction Ltd is seeking a skilled Drywall Mechanic to join our team. As a key member of our interior systems department, you will be responsible for installing and finishing drywall sheets, metal stud framing, and furring for interior drywall or plaster walls and ceilings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Measure and Install Drywall Sheets: Measure, cut, fit, and install drywall sheets to ensure a smooth and even finish.
  • Smooth Out Excess Compound: Smooth out excess compound and allow coat to dry to achieve a high-quality finish.
  • Cut Openings for Piping and Electrical Outlets: Cut openings in lath for heating and ventilation piping, ducts, and electrical outlets.
  • Install Metal Stud Framing and Furring: Install metal stud framing and furring for interior drywall or plaster walls and ceilings, using hand and power tools.
  • Install Vapour Barriers and Insulation: Install vapour barriers and thermal and sound insulation to ensure a comfortable and energy-efficient indoor environment.
  • Prepare Wall and Ceiling Layouts: Prepare wall and ceiling layouts to ensure accurate installation of drywall sheets and other materials.
  • Utilize Laser Alignment System: Utilize a laser alignment system to ensure precise installation of drywall sheets and other materials.
  • Work Term and Hours: This is a permanent position, working 40 hours per week.
Requirements
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma is required for this position.
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in drywall installation and finishing is required.
