About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Engineer to join our Surface Operations team at Newcrest Mining. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient execution of projects, from planning to completion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Planning and Execution: Develop and implement project plans, including feasibility studies, risk management, budgeting, and scheduling.
  • Project Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor project progress, identify and mitigate risks, and provide regular reports to stakeholders.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with department leadership, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Problem-Solving and Decision-Making: Analyze problems, identify solutions, and make informed decisions to ensure project success.
  • Team Leadership and Development: Mentor and support engineers-in-training, and contribute to the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Job Hazard Analysis (JHAs).
Requirements
  • Education: BSc. Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or equivalent education.
  • Registration: Registered as a P.Geo/P.Eng with EGBC is a requirement.
  • Experience: 5-8 years of experience in construction or operations, with a preference for those with roadwork experience.
  • Skills: Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Suite, project controls software, and experience with Deswik, RoadEng, and Drone Survey Modelling.
  • Personal Qualities: Strong communication and conflict resolution skills, time management and decision-making skills, and a firm understanding of engineering best practices.
