Data Scientist

Alberta Financial Services Corporation is a leading provider of financial services to the agricultural industry in Alberta.

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Data Science Summer Student to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work with our Business Intelligence department, contributing to the development of advanced analytics initiatives.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in data analysis, machine learning, and business intelligence. You will work closely with our experienced team to identify trends and insights from large datasets, providing actionable recommendations to drive business decisions.

This role is ideal for students looking to gain practical experience in data science, working on real-world projects that make a tangible impact on the agriculture industry. As a summer student, you will be exposed to a wide range of tasks, including exploratory data analysis, data visualization, and statistical modeling.

You will be working on various projects, including:

• Identifying key drivers of agricultural production in Alberta
• Developing predictive models to forecast crop yields
• Creating interactive dashboards to visualize farm-level data

In addition to your technical skills, you will develop strong communication and collaboration skills, working closely with stakeholders to understand their needs and deliver tailored solutions.
