The Records Management Coordinator supports the institution's formal records management program by updating and building on existing practices. This includes updating the Retention and Disposition Schedule to ensure compliance with policies and regulatory requirements.
The coordinator will also develop and provide training to departments and schools to ensure understanding of the institution's records management practices.
Key Responsibilities- Update the existing Retention and Disposition Schedule to ensure all institutional records are identified and retained/disposed of in accordance with applicable policies and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate and support departments in developing departmental file plans, proper document and record naming conventions, and retention and disposition schedules.
- Develop and provide training to departments and schools to ensure understanding of the institution's records management practices.
- 1-2 years of experience in formal Records Information Management.
- Experience with records management practices including policies, procedures, retention and disposition schedules, file plans, and file naming conventions is essential.
- Demonstrated ability to perform duties with little supervision, work independently, and coordinate with others.
- Completion of Grade 12 or recognized equivalent required, post-secondary courses in Records and Information Management (RIM) or Library studies preferred.
- A combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Term of Employment: 300 hours.
- Hours of Work: up to 35 hours per week.
- Wage Rate: $30.00 per hour.
