This is a unique opportunity to work in a Long Term Care home setting, where you will have the chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our residents. Schedule: The position requires 3 hours of work per week.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assessment and Treatment: Conduct occupational therapy assessments for residents, develop individualized treatment plans, and document all progress notes in our electronic health record system.
  • Feeding Assessments: Complete thorough feeding assessments for residents to identify areas for improvement.
  • Falls Prevention and Least Restraints: Conduct assessments to identify residents at risk of falls and implement strategies to prevent them.
  • Wound Management: Work collaboratively with the Physiotherapist and Nursing staff to ensure effective wound management, including positioning, lifting, and transferring.
  • Interdisciplinary Teamwork: Participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings to discuss resident care and make recommendations for interventions.

Qualifications:

  • Registration and Licensure: Be registered and in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario and have ADP Authorizer status.
  • Professional Insurance: Possess Professional License Insurance.
  • Excellent Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and listening skills when interacting with residents and their families.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Long Term Care Experience: Have experience working in a Long Term Care home, which would be an asset.
  • Criminal Records Check: Obtain a current police check for the Vulnerable Sector.
