Civil Engineering Technician Job Description

At Thurber Engineering Ltd., we are seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineering Technician to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a vital role in supporting the development of engineering specifications and drawings, conducting field surveys and inspections, and preparing project schedules.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and Review Engineering Specifications: Assist in the development of engineering specifications and drawings, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Conduct Field Surveys and Inspections: Participate in field surveys, inspections, and technical investigations to gather data and information.
  • Prepare Project Schedules: Create and manage project schedules, ensuring timely completion of projects.
  • Supervise and Conduct Field Work: Supervise or conduct field surveys, inspections, technical investigations, and testing of construction materials.
Requirements:
  • Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
