Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Food Counter Attendant to join our team at Denny's Fort St John. As a key member of our food service team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and ensuring the highest quality food preparation and presentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clean and sanitize all kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces to maintain a high level of cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Operate dishwashers to wash dishes, glassware, and flatware, and ensure that all items are properly sanitized and stored.
  • Portion and wrap food items, and prepare simple food items such as sandwiches and salads.
  • Serve customers at counters or buffet tables, and take orders in a fast-paced environment.
  • Stock refrigerators and salad bars, and maintain a well-organized and clean storage area.
  • Use manual and electrical appliances to clean, peel, slice, and trim foodstuffs, and wash, peel, and cut vegetables and fruit.
  • Clean and sanitize the kitchen, including work surfaces, cupboards, storage areas, appliances, and equipment.

Requirements:

  • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a food service environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask with ease.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Reliability, dependability, and a positive attitude are essential for this role.

Working Conditions:

  • Fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Physically demanding, with frequent standing, walking, and lifting.
  • Repetitive tasks and attention to detail are required.
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment.
