Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Truck Driver to join our team at La Verrerie Walker Ltée. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for safely transporting goods and materials across various routes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transportation: Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Regularly inspect and maintain the condition of the vehicle, including tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment.
  • Pre-Trip and Post-Trip Inspections: Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in good working condition and to identify any potential issues.
  • Documentation and Record-Keeping: Accurately record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption, as well as maintain accurate records of vehicle maintenance and repairs.
  • Communication: Effectively communicate with central dispatch and other stakeholders to ensure smooth operations and address any issues that may arise.
Requirements
  • Education: College/CEGEP diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field.
  • Certifications and Licenses: Air Brakes Endorsement, Air Brake (Z) Endorsement, and a valid Class 1 or A driver's license.
  • Language Skills: Fluency in French and English.
  • Physical Demands: Physically demanding role requiring the ability to sit for extended periods and lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
