Join Our Team as a Financial Services Intern

MNP is a leading national accounting, tax, and business advisory firm in Canada. We are a dynamic and entrepreneurial organization that thrives in the face of change.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop technical skills in areas such as financial reporting, auditing, and tax preparation.
  • Apply knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and Accounting Standards for Private Enterprise (ASPE).
  • Manage multiple client files, conduct inventory counts, and perform accounts receivable and payable tasks.
  • Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets and profit and loss statements.
  • Assess audit evidence and investigate discrepancies in financial entries and reports.
  • Establish charts of accounts and prepare entries for posting to accounts.
  • Prepare correspondence, technical reports, and client summaries outlining engagement findings and highlights.
  • Collaborate with client engagement teams and build relationships with client contacts.
  • Contribute to the development of new ideas and approaches to improve work processes.
Requirements
  • Working towards a bachelor's degree in commerce or business administration (accounting or finance major preferred).
  • Working towards prerequisites for admission into the CPA Professional Education Program (PEP).
  • Previous accounting-related office experience is considered an asset.
  • Customer service and/or client service experience is considered an asset.
  • Experience working with accounting and tax software is considered an asset.
