Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team at S3 Group Ltd. The ideal candidate will have experience with financial accounting and a strong analytical background.
Key Responsibilities- Financial Statement Preparation: Prepare and reconcile Balance Sheets accounts monthly for the group, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Financial Analysis: Analyze financial information for management review, providing insights and recommendations for business growth.
- Government Reporting: Prepare government reporting and remittances (GST, PST, Receiver General) in a timely and accurate manner.
- Record Bank Reconciliations: Perform record bank reconciliations for multiple divisions and assist S3 Group divisions in more complex transaction recording.
- Fixed Asset Ledger: Maintain the fixed asset ledger and reconcile to general ledger accounts.
- Divisional Statements: Assist with the preparation of divisional statements and month-end consolidated financial statements.
- Audit Support: Assist the Corporate Controller with the audit of internal controls in all S3 business units.
- Cash Flow Management: Manage cash flow, including forecasts and analysis, to ensure the company's financial stability.
- Complex Transactions: Complete complex financial accounting transactions with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Leadership Support: Provide backup support to the Corporate Controller and participate actively in finance department leadership.
- Interim Financial Statements: Prepare and analyze interim financial statements, including daily and weekly financial metrics.
- Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance, or a related discipline.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is considered an asset.
- Greater than 3 years of accounting experience in a senior accounting or financial accounting or audit role.
- Ability to work autonomously and make sound business decisions.
- Impeccable analytical and organizational skills.
- Self-motivated and self-directed with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to ask critical questions, verify data, follow instructions, and employ business reasonable judgment.
- Proficiency with accounting software, MRP or ERP systems, as well as Microsoft Office Suite, including higher level skills in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Enrollment in the CPA program is considered an asset.
- Reports directly to the Corporate Controller.
- Must work closely with all departments and levels of management.
