Role Summary
As a key member of the Global Compliance and Operational Risk Management team, this role plays a critical part in defining requirements for the corporate compliance and operational risk management program across the Bank and its enterprise subsidiaries. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in developing and implementing compliance and operational risk management programs, with a strong focus on delivering results under pressure.

Responsibilities
  • Drives the development and implementation of strategic priorities for Compliance and Operational Risk (COR) in the country or sub-region, aligning with Global COR (GCOR) strategic priorities and ensuring necessary resources are allocated.
  • Leverages expertise to lead the execution of the GCOR Program in the country or sub-region, guaranteeing timely delivery and adherence to standards, including review and challenge of Front-Line Units and Control Functions.
  • Promotes effective and transparent country COR reporting to GCOR senior leaders, country and regional management, and legal entity management through established governance and management routines.
  • Maintains thorough understanding of compliance and operational risks in the country or sub-region, encompassing those covered by Enterprise Area of Coverage.
  • Fosters collaboration with regulators in the region, engaging in meetings between business leaders and regulators and guiding responses to regulatory inquiries on COR functions.
  • Ensures upkeep of a comprehensive regulatory inventory for each Coverage Area in the country or sub-region, overseeing identification and assessment of law, rule, and regulation changes affecting those areas, advising business leaders of relevant changes, directing actions by impacted COR teams, and reviewing and challenging overall implementation plans.
  • Represents GCOR at country senior management and legal entity governance forums, providing updates on current state and escalating issues or concerns, including communication of emerging compliance and operational risk.
  • Acts as the Designated Privacy Officer (DPO) for Canada.
