Senior Java Developer - Full Stack

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Java Developer to join our team in Ottawa. As a key member of our software development team, you will be responsible for designing and building web applications, working through the complete software development lifecycle, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Conceptualize, design, and build web applications using Java and related technologies
  2. Work through the complete software development lifecycle, from scratch to launch
  3. Design user-based interactions through an impactful front-end architecture framework
  4. Develop functional databases, applications, and servers
  5. Code for various platforms to ensure functionality across multiple channels
  6. Develop and design RESTful services and APIs
  7. Manage database administration and hosting responsibilities
  8. Troubleshoot issues and solve problems where needed

Requirements

  1. Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or engineering
  2. 5+ years of experience in building large-scale software applications
  3. Knowledge of multiple front-end languages (JavaScript, HTML, CSS) and their libraries
  4. Knowledge of back-end languages (Java, Python, PHP)
  5. Good knowledge of Google Cloud and App Engine development
  6. Familiarity with newer specifications of ECMAScript
  7. Familiarity with RESTful APIs
  8. Knowledge of modern authorization mechanisms
  9. Familiarity with database technologies such as MySQL, Oracle, and MongoDB
