Job Summary:

We are seeking an Electrical Maintenance Specialist to join our team at the Mississauga Flexibles Plant. As an Electrical Maintenance Specialist, you will be responsible for performing duties in the highest professional manner, working independently to perform preventative maintenance, repair, fabrication, and/or modifications of the plant's packaging equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform electrical maintenance and repairs on packaging equipment
  • Work jointly with the production team to ensure equipment is in safe and efficient operational status at all times
  • Assist in the design and/or installation of new plant equipment
  • Be involved in the direct training of co-workers as assigned
  • Understand and follow PPE requirements, safe electrical practices, Energy Isolation procedures, and other plant safety requirements

Requirements:

  • Provincial Certification as an Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) or Industrial Electrician
  • 5-10 years' work experience in an industrial setting, as a Millwright or Electrician (flexible packaging background is preferred)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of safety rules, manufacturer recommendations, OSHA regulations, and general work safety practices
  • Ability to interpret and understand basic mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic drawings and functions OR electrical systems/motor controls
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient with computers and Microsoft Office programs, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Ability to perform physical requirements of the job
  • Availability to work 12-hour rotating continental shifts (2 weeks working days, then 2 weeks working nights)
