About the Job

We are seeking a skilled Drywall Installer to join our team at The Boss Construction Inc. as a key member of our construction crew.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements and ensure accurate installation.
  • Apply, level, and smooth coats of plaster to create a smooth and even surface.
  • Clean and prepare surfaces for installation, including filling joints, nail indentations, holes, and cracks with joint compound.
  • Fabricate and install suspended metal ceiling grids and place in panels to form acoustical and coffered ceilings.
  • Measure, cut, fit, and install drywall sheets to ensure a precise and secure fit.
  • Mould and install ornamental plaster panels, cornices, and trim to add a decorative touch.
  • Smooth out excess compound and allow coat to dry, ensuring a professional finish.
  • Spray acoustic or texture materials over walls and ceilings to create a unique and functional design.
  • Cut openings in lath for heating and ventilation piping, ducts, and electrical outlets.
  • Prepare wall and ceiling layouts to ensure accurate installation and minimize waste.
  • Erect and install scaffolding, falsework, and other working platforms to ensure safe and efficient work.
Work Environment

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced construction environment, with exposure to dust, noise, and physical demands.

Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 1 to less than 7 months of experience in the field.
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment.
  • Own tools and equipment, including a hard hat and safety glasses/goggles.
