Perfusion Specialist

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Perfusion Specialist to join our team at Island Health. As a Perfusion Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting or replacing a patient's cardiac and/or pulmonary function during surgical and therapeutic procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Select, assemble, operate, monitor, and maintain artificial extracorporeal circulation apparatuses.
• Report to the Manager, Cardiac Surgery, and work effectively with medical and nursing staff, patients, and hospital department Directors.
• Ensure patient safety is a priority and continuously improve quality and safety in all aspects of the position.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of a recognized accredited Cardiovascular Perfusion program.
• Eligible to be certified by the Canadian Society of Clinical Perfusion.
• One year recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
