About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Construction Specialist to join our team at MRG CUSTOM CONCRETE FORMING INC. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for preparing estimates of labour and/or material costs, reading blueprints, and preparing layouts in conformance to building codes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs
  • Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements
  • Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
  • Prepare tenders and quotations
  • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems
  • Estimate costs and materials
  • Operate CADD and other computer software systems
  • Erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks shoring and barricades
  • Operate woodworking machines, such as power saws, jointers, mortisers and shapers, to cut, shape and form parts and components

Work Environment:

As a Construction Specialist, you will work in a fast-paced construction environment with a focus on safety and quality. You will be required to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in a variety of weather conditions.

Requirements:

  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in a variety of weather conditions
  • Ability to lift heavy loads and work in a physically demanding environment
