About the Role

Roche is a global leader in pharmaceuticals and diagnostics, and we're seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to join our team. As a DevOps Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing and developing our build, release, and deploy toolchain for DevOps, while providing on-call support. You will work closely with software developers, product managers, test engineers, and administrators to ensure the smooth operation of our systems.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop build, release, and deploy toolchains for DevOps
  • Provide on-call support for our systems
  • Work with software developers, product managers, test engineers, and administrators to ensure smooth system operation
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues quickly and effectively
  • Develop and maintain automation tools and scripts
  • Collaborate with the team to set priorities and track operational metrics
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, science, engineering, or a related field
  • 5-8 years of experience in systems engineering and DevOps
  • Strong knowledge of Linux systems and internals
  • Experience with container technology, including Kubernetes and Docker
  • Experience with provisioning infrastructure through IAC (preferably Terraform)
  • Good understanding of networking and related protocols
  • Proficiency with source control, continuous integration, and configuration management
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with cloud-based technologies, including AWS and hybrid environments
  • Experience with security technologies, including perimeter security, web application scanning, and firewall systems
  • Experience with distributed systems technologies, including Hadoop and NoSQL databases
