Key Responsibilities:
  • Repair and maintain generators and motors; install electrical conduits
  • Assist in work on switch gear and wiring for 480-volt systems
  • Clean shop and work areas
  • Detect faulty operation of equipment; report questionable conditions to supervisor; issue work orders to supervisor as necessary
  • Conduct inventory of equipment, materials, and supplies; advise management when to reorder stock
  • Estimate work time; write up lists of appropriate and needed materials; provide such materials for self or group
  • Perform related duties as required
  • Provide guidance and instruction to craft trainees
Requirements:
  • High school/vocational school education or equivalent
  • A valid driver's license with two years' driving experience
  • Must be a qualified journeyman electrician registered with the State of New Jersey
  • Maintain journeyman certification while in job title
