Barn Sanitation and Maintenance Crew Member

Join Maple Leaf Foods as a Barn Sanitation and Maintenance Crew Member and contribute to the success of our Hanover Breeder and Pullet Farms. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of our barns and equipment, ensuring the health and well-being of our animals.

Responsibilities
  • Clean and disinfect barns and equipment to maintain a safe and healthy environment for our animals.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs to barns and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Operate a variety of machinery and hand tools to complete tasks efficiently.
  • Install new equipment and change over old equipment as needed.
  • Travel to various farms to perform tasks and ensure timely completion of duties.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices and adherence to Animal Welfare/CHEQ/Biosecurity procedures.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Capable of performing heavy work on a daily basis and working in extreme weather conditions.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to live within 25 km of the farm locations.
  • Experience with hand tools and Steiner's an asset.
  • Poultry background an asset.
