Registered Veterinary Technician Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our team at Mississauga-Oakville Emergency and Specialty Hospital. As an RVT, you will have the opportunity to work with a talented team of veterinarians and support staff, and contribute to the delivery of exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist veterinarians with medical procedures, including physical examinations, patient assessment, and anesthesia monitoring.
  • Prepare and maintain patient records, including medical history, treatment plans, and test results.
  • Provide compassionate care to hospitalized patients and their owners, including administering medications, taking vital signs, and providing emotional support.
  • Collaborate with the veterinary team to develop and implement treatment plans, and communicate effectively with owners regarding patient care and progress.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay up-to-date on the latest veterinary techniques and technologies.
Requirements:
  • Completion of a Veterinary Technician or Animal Health Technician program.
  • Previous experience in a veterinary hospital is an asset, but not required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with veterinarians, support staff, and pet owners.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on providing exceptional patient care and customer service.
