As the Manager, Maintenance Operations, you will oversee the maintenance team and operations for all manufacturing and distribution center equipment. Your key responsibilities will include building a strong team of leaders and skilled trades employees, coaching and empowering behaviors aligned with Arc'teryx culture and values, and partnering closely with manufacturing and distribution operations teams to ensure equipment reliability and uptime.
Key Activities:- Develop innovative and comprehensive strategies to enhance equipment reliability, reduce downtime, and support continuous improvement.
- Oversee and refine end-to-end maintenance processes, including preventive maintenance, new equipment commissioning, and ad-hoc requests.
- Collaborate with operational leaders to prioritize maintenance tasks and improvement initiatives.
- Develop detailed commissioning plans and schedules for new equipment installations.
- Oversee vendor relationships, including negotiating contracts for external maintenance service providers.
- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Lead and develop a high-performing maintenance team, providing guidance, training, and coaching.
- Design and implement systems to track KPIs and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Develop and manage maintenance budgets, controlling costs while ensuring adequate resources.
- Maintain inventory of spare parts and equipment necessary for maintenance activities.
- Implement training of production and DC operators for basic maintenance tasks.
- Manage maintenance service model beyond ARC'One, inclusive of design center and in-store repair service centers.
- Audit vendors and Service Level Agreements to build productive partnerships.
- Partner with engineering on the Factory of Future equipment model.
- Be a pivotal leader in the evolution and expansion of our Global Distribution network.
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional level experience.
- 5+ years' experience in a similar role, manufacturing and distribution experience is an asset.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including dealing with difficult situations and creating strong relationships.
- Proven track record of working effectively in cross-functional settings and balancing collaboration with autonomy.
- Proven people leadership, mentorship, and project management skills.
- Influencing and negotiating skills to manage and select best vendors.
- Ability to work well under minimal supervision and as part of a team.
- Continuous improvement mindset and proactive approach to identifying root causes and developing solutions.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong time management skills.
Compensation: CAD$104,000 - CAD$130,000 per year, plus competitive bonus program and benefits.
