Fruit Farm Worker Job Description

At Gennaro Monteforte, Emilia Monteforte, we are seeking a skilled Fruit Farm Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in fruit and vegetable production, with a focus on harvesting, grading, and packaging.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Apply the technique of hoeing between rows to maintain crop health
  • Clear and collect brush and debris from fields, pens, and other work areas
  • Divide fresh harvested produce into marketable and non-marketable lots
  • Grade vegetables and fruits into different grades according to size, shape, color, and volume
  • Hand harvest vegetables and fruits
  • Plant, cultivate, and irrigate crops
  • Weeding and fertilizing crops
  • Harvest crops and operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment
  • Detect disease and health problems in crops, livestock, and poultry
  • Examine product for quality and readiness for market
Requirements:
  • Experience in fruit and vegetable production
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
  • Physical stamina to handle heavy loads and work in various weather conditions
  • Attention to detail and ability to distinguish between colors
  • Efficient interpersonal skills and flexibility
