Bus Operations Specialist

LITTLE DOLPHINS DAYCARE LTD is seeking a highly skilled Bus Operations Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our transportation department, you will be responsible for safely transporting passengers and ensuring the smooth operation of our bus services.
About the RoleThe ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. You will be required to operate buses, school busses or streetcars, collect fares, and record transactions, as well as report any delays, mechanical problems, or accidents.
Responsibilities- Operate Vehicles: Safely transport passengers on scheduled routes, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
- Fare Collection and Transaction Recording: Collect fares from passengers and accurately record transactions using our proprietary system.
- Communication and Reporting: Provide passengers with information on fares, schedules, and stops, and communicate with dispatchers or other drivers using two-way radio systems. Report any delays, mechanical issues, or accidents to management promptly.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicles are in good working condition, and oversee all aspects of vehicle maintenance.
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field.
- Certifications: Valid Driver's Licence (Class 2 or B or C).
This is a permanent position with regular hours of 32 hours per week. The work environment is fast-paced, and you must be able to adapt quickly to changing circumstances.
Estimated Salary:$40,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
