About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a leading real estate investment trust and contribute to the success of our organization. In this role, you will be working closely with various departments to ensure that all maintenance tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.

  • Respond to tenant concerns in a timely manner and assist in finding appropriate solutions.
  • Record all services performed in the Yardi work order management system.
  • Complete minor maintenance and repairs as required, including carpentry, drywall and paint, lamp replacement, lubrication of doors, washrooms and fixtures, among others.

In addition to these responsibilities, you will also be required to:

  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth building operations.
  • Ensure all equipment and systems are operated in a safe and efficient manner and follow all applicable government codes and regulations.
  • Carry out execution of all preventative maintenance tasks as prescribed on all equipment and systems.
  • Monitor, test and inspect building security system, fire alarm panel, and sprinkler system for proper operation and report any discrepancies.

We are looking for a highly motivated and organized individual who has a strong background in facilities maintenance. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in a similar role and possess a Grade 12 or equivalent education.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Strong knowledge of general maintenance practices and procedures.
  • Sound knowledge of building systems and emergency procedures.
  • Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act, Workplace Hazardous Materials Information Systems (WHMIS) and First Aid and CPR training.
  • Knowledge of Provincial Building Code & Regulations, Canadian Electrical Code, Provincial Fire Code and Electrical Safety Authority.

You must also be able to:

  • Work independently under minimal supervision.
  • Prioritize work effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Collaborate with other departments to achieve common goals.
