Data Modeler for Business Intelligence Solutions

FCT, a leading provider of title insurance and related services to the Canadian real estate industry, is seeking a skilled Data Modeler to join our team. We offer a competitive salary of $90,000 - $120,000 per year, based on experience.
Job DescriptionAs a Data Modeler, you will play a critical role in designing and developing conceptual, logical, and physical data models that integrate data from various sources into Business Intelligence (BI) Data marts and OLAP Cubes. Your primary responsibility will be to collaborate with business users, BI/Analytics developers, data engineers, and architects to gather requirements and translate them into data models that support analytics, reporting, and performance metrics.
You will optimize data models to ensure high performance of queries, reduce data redundancy, and improve overall system efficiency. Additionally, you will work closely with ETL developers to ensure the accurate and timely loading of data into data marts according to the data model specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models
- Collaborate with business users and technical teams to gather requirements and translate them into data models
- Optimize data models for high performance and reduced redundancy
- Work with ETL developers to load data into data marts
Required Skills and Qualifications:
EducationBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field.
Experience3-5 years of experience in data modeling, specifically for BI/Analytics, data warehouses, and/or data marts.
SkillsProven experience with data modeling tools such as ER/Studio, Erwin, or equivalent.
Experience working with BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik.
Knowledge of relational and dimensional database design (star schema, snowflake schema).
Strong understanding of SQL and database technologies (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL).
Familiarity with cloud-based data storage and warehousing solutions (e.g., AWS Redshift, Google Big Query, Azure Synapse).
Familiarity with metadata management and data governance frameworks.
