Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Business and Cooperative Education courses to students in grades 11 and 12. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business education and experience in cooperative education.

Responsibilities:
  • Teach Business and Cooperative Education courses to students in grades 11 and 12
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that meet the needs of diverse learners
  • Assess student learning and provide feedback
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement school-wide initiatives
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current in best practices in business education
Requirements:
  • Basic qualifications to teach in the Senior Division - Business and Cooperative Education
  • Sound knowledge of the programs and teaching experience in the listed division and subject areas
  • Special Education Part I would be considered an asset
  • Knowledge and experience in utilizing student learning management systems such as Google Classroom, as well as additional G-Suite digital tools and EDSBY, to facilitate instruction and effective communication with parents
  • Demonstrated knowledge of how students learn effectively with a repertoire of proven instructional and assessment practices
  • Commitment to supporting the use of technology in instruction and learning, and to promoting an environment of innovation and creativity that engages the 21st century learner
  • Commitment to ongoing professional learning and collaboration around the school's Student Achievement Plan through school-based PLC's, department meetings, co-planning and co-teaching
  • Knowledge, experience and proven ability in utilizing differentiated instructional approaches within the classroom that support well-being, equity and inclusion
  • Proven ability to implement effective classroom management strategies
  • Ability to implement a shared vision consistent with the principles of Catholic education and integrating the Catholic Graduate Expectations within the curriculum
  • Flexibility to be assigned in other subject areas as the need arises
  • Willingness to actively assume extra-curricular duties
  • Knowledge of, and familiarity with, the school community
