About the Role

MCD McKesson Canada Corporation / La Corporation McKesson Canada is seeking a highly skilled Senior QA Lead to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our QA team, you will play a pivotal role in leading a team of testers to provide testing support for strategic initiatives across our B2B healthcare application assets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Quality Assurance Leadership: Develop, implement, and execute the product quality assurance plan for various work streams, ensuring alignment with overall QA goals and objectives.
  • Performance Metrics: Develop and manage quality assurance metrics to drive performance improvements within the development teams.
  • Effective Communication: Provide clear and effective communication regarding issues, objectives, initiatives, and performance measurements against set plans.
  • Problem Anticipation: Anticipate program or product release problems and take corrective action, escalating as needed to meet commitments.
  • Test Strategy: Work closely with project leadership to define areas of test and formulate comprehensive test strategies.
  • Data Analysis: Gather and analyze test data, providing detailed reports for the project team, and track bugs and issues through Jira.
  • Test Systems Preparation: Prepare test systems to support development across various environments.
  • Test Plans: Develop and maintain detailed test plans and assignments for every deliverable build across releases and iterations.
  • Release Management: Create release roadmaps and sign-off on final submission reports for releases.
  • Team Assignment: Assign work to team members as needed, identify potential risks to releases/deployments, and collaborate with scrum masters, release train engineers, and leadership to resolve issues.
  • Mentorship: Mentor junior staff and assist in the hiring process to build a strong QA team.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional QA teams, Product teams, and outsourced Testers to ensure seamless integration and high-quality deliverables.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Management Experience: Minimum of 5 years of management and software quality assurance experience, with prior experience working with distributed teams in matrix organizations.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills with experience in interviewing SMEs to gather critical information.
  • SDLC Understanding: Strong understanding of software development life cycles and processes.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Exceptional problem-solving, communication, and prioritization skills.
  • Agile Proficiency: Familiarity with Agile methodologies, bug tracking, and tools like Jira.
  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Certification: Industry-recognized certification in Quality Assurance and testing is an asset.
