ANDRITZ Hydropower Canada is a leading provider of sustainable solutions in the energy sector.

We are currently seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team at the Andritz Hydro Peterborough Generator Center.

This is a challenging opportunity for a candidate with a strong background in electrical engineering, particularly in the design of hydro generators and rotating machinery.

The successful candidate will work closely with local engineering and drafting teams, as well as externally located specialists, project management, manufacturing, and installation teams.

A key aspect of this role is the optimization of hydro generator electromagnetic design, including analysis of electrical components, documentation for proposals and technical reports, and review and approval of electrical drawings.

Ongoing projects require occasional travel to customer locations, project sites, or other Andritz offices.

As an ideal candidate, you should possess:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Existing or potential Professional Engineer registration
  • 3-5 years of experience in design with hydro generators or other rotating machinery
  • Computer skills in common PC applications - Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Electromagnetic finite element skills – desired
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, sound judgment, initiative, and creativity
  • Ability to work with people in a team environment
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Fluency in English required
  • Ability to travel and work with various cultures

Based on industry standards and requirements, the estimated salary range for this position is $120,000-$160,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
