Senior Software Development Engineer, Commerce Integration Services, Digital Acceleration

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Development Engineer to join our team at Amazon Development Centre Canada ULC. As a key member of our commerce team, you will be responsible for leading the design and development of large-scale Software-As-A-Service (SAAS) solutions for subscription and membership businesses.
Our team builds and runs mission-critical commerce systems, enabling Amazon businesses to serve customers by providing unique product solutions for subscription signups and retention. If you are excited about building distributed systems with challenging requirements on availability, latency, and consistency, we want to hear from you.
As a Senior Engineer, you will lead projects involving multiple teams in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) using an agile process. You will have the opportunity to make a long-lasting impact on our systems and contribute to the growth of our digital businesses worldwide.
To be successful in this position, you will have a strong background in Algorithms, Data Structures, Java, and NoSQL. You should be able to communicate clearly and concisely, both written and orally, and work well in a team. Experience working with high-traffic, scalable services is a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead projects involving multiple teams in all aspects of the SDLC using an agile process
- Design and develop large-scale Software-As-A-Service (SAAS) solutions for subscription and membership businesses
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize business requirements
- Develop and maintain high-quality, scalable, and reliable software systems
Requirements:
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team
