Machinist Specialist

The ideal candidate for this position will have experience in maintenance and repair of machinery, as well as knowledge of electrical and electronic controls. They will be responsible for performing routine maintenance work on machinery, detecting and troubleshooting irregularities, and fabricating parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set-up.

• Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance work on machinery, including detecting and troubleshooting irregularities and malfunctions.
• Fabrication: Fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set-up, including constructing foundations for machinery and operating machining tools.
• Electrical and Electronic Controls: Have knowledge of electrical and electronic controls, including programming programmable logic controllers (PLCs)
• Installation and Operation: Install machinery and equipment, and operate hoisting and lifting equipment.
• Reading and Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications.

• Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
• Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years.
• Work Setting: Maintenance.
• Physical Demands: Physically demanding, standing for extended periods, bending, crouching, kneeling.
• Weight Handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
