Job Summary

Veolia is seeking an Environmental and Laboratory Technician to support the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) department in achieving its goals and objectives. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing sampling, extraction, analysis, monitoring, auditing, and reporting duties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sampling and Analysis: Perform sampling, extraction, and analysis of environmental samples according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and permitting requirements.
  • Instrument Maintenance: Maintain workspace, equipment, instrumentation, and incoming/outgoing sample inventory.
  • Method Development: Develop and enhance effective troubleshooting skills and complete regular instrument maintenance and calibration procedures.
  • Reporting: Prepare reports according to Operating Approvals for submission to regulatory agencies.
  • Team Support: Support the team to achieve their goals and objectives and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). KPIs include safety, productivity, and quality of work performed.

Requirements:

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: No related experience is required; however, preference is for 1 year's related environmental experience and 1 to 2 years' related experience in operating and maintaining laboratory analytical instruments.
  • Skills: Knowledge of the Operating Approval and other Acts and Regulations, ability to interpret them, mechanical aptitude, proficiency in data interpretation and report writing, working knowledge of plant processes, and understanding of sampling procedures and practices.
