Adecco Canada is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist

This is a 7-8 month contract role located in Kingston, ON. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing biweekly payroll for 5,000-6,000 employees, ensuring compliance with collective agreements and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process biweekly payroll for 5,000-6,000 employees using Kronos and SAP.
  • Ensure accuracy in payroll calculations, deductions, and disbursements.
  • Work collaboratively within a unionized environment and be familiar with collective agreements.
  • Analyze and understand payroll reports and run queries as required.
  • Prepare reports for CRA and Service Canada, including handling pay garnishments.
  • Manage account reconciliations and cost allocations.
  • Act as a critical thinker and problem solver to address payroll issues.
Requirements:
  • Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada.
  • Post-secondary education in Accounting or a related field.
  • Previous experience with Kronos and SAP is an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll processes and regulations.
  • Experience in a unionized environment preferred.
  • Ability to analyze reports and maintain attention to detail.
  • Proven problem-solving skills and critical thinking capabilities.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check and credit check.
