About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to join Alberta Health Services as an Environmental Specialist II. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the cleanliness and safety of our healthcare facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate industrial cleaning equipment for floor maintenance, thorough washing of ceilings and windows, and emptying hazardous waste.
  • Provide training and orientation to Environmental staff on the safe operation of equipment and procedures.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of cleaning schedules and protocols to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure a seamless and efficient cleaning process.

Requirements:

  • Grade 10 or equivalent education.
  • Knowledge and operation of a computer, including Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time and perform repetitive movements for the duration of your shift.
  • Physically capable to lift, push, and pull up to 30 lbs of force.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in facilities maintenance or a related field.
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
