Job Title: Psychologist I

About the Role:

As a Psychologist I with Alberta Health Services, you will be part of an inter-professional team providing psychological services to clients living with chronic conditions such as obesity and diabetes. Your role will involve leading and/or co-leading client screening and assessments, interventions, psychotherapy groups, and structured groups. You will work collaboratively with the team to develop individual treatment plans and provide evidence-based psychological services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide psychological testing and assessment procedures to clients
  • Lead and/or co-lead client screening and assessments, interventions, psychotherapy groups, and structured groups
  • Develop and implement individual treatment plans in collaboration with the inter-professional team
  • Apply evidence-based knowledge and critical analysis to support clients with chronic conditions
  • Maintain clinical and professional standards and collaborate with other team members

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Psychology from an accredited university program
  • Active or eligible for registration with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP)
  • Experience working with diverse and vulnerable populations
  • Specialized training in evaluation and counseling of obese clients
  • Leadership skills and ability to inspire and build confidence in others

What We Offer:

Alberta Health Services offers a competitive rate of pay and a Remote Retention Allowance of up to $3,000 per year. This allowance is non-pensionable and payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.
