Job Summary
The Vision Rehabilitation Assistant will work collaboratively with our ACVREP Certified Rehabilitation Specialists and Occupational Therapists to provide Vision Loss Rehabilitation Services. This role requires a highly competent and well-organized health care professional who values safety, security, and Client wellness above all else.
Key Responsibilities
- Under the direction of the Rehabilitation Specialists, receives referrals and assists with the implementation of rehabilitation plans/programs.
- Provides input into the planning, implementation, modification, and evaluation of the rehabilitative treatment plans.
- Assists individuals with sight loss in the reinforcement and practice of adaptive skills for independent living.
- Maintains all case data and documentation consistent with VLRC Systems and Procedures.
- Collaborates with the rehabilitation team in service delivery and coordinates travel schedules.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to work well with others in a team environment. A post-secondary education and/or prior experience in a Rehabilitation Assistant program, Occupational or Physical Therapy Assistant program, Social Work or related field is preferred.
