Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Police Dispatcher to join our dynamic team. As a Police Dispatcher, you will play a crucial role in our emergency communications operations, coordinating and dispatching police response to a variety of calls, including high-priority incidents.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate and dispatch police response to emergency calls, including high-priority incidents
- Provide continuous updates to police officers and other stakeholders via radio and CAD systems
- Support police operations by analyzing events, assessing risks, and acquiring necessary resources
- Optimize resource allocation through effective assessment of reports, geographical location, and available resources
- Take emergency police calls for E-Comm partner police agencies
- Minimum 2 years of experience in an emergency communication center, with at least 1 year of recent dispatching experience in British Columbia
- Proficiency in CPIC, CAD, PRIME, radio, and recording equipment, as well as other relevant technologies
- Strong knowledge of emergency response procedures and law enforcement protocols, including the Criminal Code of Canada
- Excellent communication and multitasking skills
- Ability to work under pressure and make quick, sound decisions
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Typing ability of 44wpm
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional courses in emergency communications would be an asset
- Meaningful work in a dynamic and supportive team environment

As a condition of employment, the required Police Security Clearance applicable to the position must be acquired and maintained. This is a process carried out by our law enforcement partner agencies, facilitated by E-Comm.
The minimum residency in Canada to qualify for this position is 3 years. To qualify for this process, a candidate may be either a Canadian Permanent Resident or Canadian Citizen. We regret any candidates under Student, Visitor, or Work Visas are not eligible for consideration.
