Cadence Design Systems, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Principal Physical Design Engineer to join our team.

About the Role:

We are looking for a talented engineer to work on the development of next-generation physical design methodologies and flows for advanced technology nodes. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of design rules for N7/N5 and below, as well as experience with scripting languages and their application in methodology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in or lead the development of next-generation physical design methodologies and flows.
  • Perform physical design implementation, including floor planning, power grid design, place and route, clock tree synthesis, timing closure, power/signal integrity signoff, physical verification (DRC/LVS/Antenna), EM/IR signoff, and DFM Closure.
  • Collaborate with the RTL design team and Analog Team to ensure successful tapeouts.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or above in EE/CS/IT, with 10+ years of work experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of design rules for N7/N5 and below.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages and their application in methodology.
  • Ability to fix physical design violations, including DRC, DFM, LVS, ANT, ERC, etc.
  • Deep experience in static timing analysis.
  • Ability to learn quickly.
  • High level of communication and teamwork.
  • Carefulness, responsibility, and persistence.
