Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Childhood Educator to join our team at Aspiring Academics Preschool Inc. as a Child Development Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing engaging educational programs that promote the cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children
  • Supervise staff, trainees, or volunteers and provide guidance on child development and educational best practices
  • Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest
  • Order supplies and equipment to maintain a safe and healthy learning environment
  • Assist early childhood educators or supervisors in keeping records and preparing reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors
  • Engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs, and preparing crafts
  • Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits
  • Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors
  • Discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings
  • Establish guidelines for behavior and maintain a positive and respectful classroom environment
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children
  • Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children
  • Plan and organize activities for school-age children in child-care programs before and after regular school hours
  • Supervise and coordinate activities of other early childhood educators and early childhood educator assistants
Requirements
  • Member of the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Physical ability to lift, bend, and move children and equipment as needed
