Job Title: Logistics Specialist

At Franzen North America, we are seeking a highly skilled Logistics Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth flow of goods and materials throughout our supply chain.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Compile orders and instructions received from customers
  • Develop specific plans to prioritize tasks and optimize logistics operations
  • Organize tasks to accomplish work efficiently and effectively
  • Oversee operational logistics of the organization, including tracking and completing work orders
  • Co-ordinate activities with other work units or departments to ensure seamless communication and collaboration
  • Monitor movement of supplies and materials between departments, ensuring timely and accurate delivery
  • Perform routine clerical duties, including preparing and submitting reports
  • Ensure smooth operation of computer equipment and machinery, including maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Light cleaning duties, including maintaining a clean and organized workspace
  • Maintain work records and logs, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information
  • Organize warehouse and work areas, ensuring efficient use of space and resources
  • Perform general office duties, including answering phones and responding to emails
  • Resolve work problems, provide technical advice, and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality
  • Co-ordinate activities with warehouse and production units, ensuring timely and accurate delivery
  • Co-ordinate traffic flow of supplies, ensuring efficient and safe transportation
  • Compile worksheets and specifications of orders, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information
  • Provide customer service, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner
  • Follow-up on issues with work orders, ensuring timely and accurate resolution
  • Keep track of shipments, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information
  • Knowledge of cross-border dispatching regulations and practices, including customs and commerce laws
  • Knowledge of highway trucking and associated rules and regulations
  • Prepare marketing plans, including developing and implementing strategies to improve sales and revenue
  • Develop marketing plans, including researching and analyzing market trends and customer needs
  • Compute shipping costs, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information
  • Board carriers from foreign countries to ensure compliance with customs and commerce laws
  • Review work orders, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information
Requirements:
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
  • Forklift Operator Certification
  • Knowledge of monitoring and tracking software, including electronic mail and spreadsheet applications
  • MS Outlook, Quick Books, and MS Excel skills
  • Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision
  • Fast-paced environment, with tight deadlines and attention to detail
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including client focus and efficient interpersonal skills
  • Flexibility, reliability, and team player skills
