Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Secretary to join our team at the Cree Board of Health and Social Services of James Bay (CBHSSJB). As a Medical Secretary, you will provide administrative support to our medical team, ensuring the smooth operation of our clinics and services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support to medical staff, including preparing medical records, reports, and requests for analyses.
  • Manage patient appointments, including booking and confirming appointments, and greeting patients for specialist appointments.
  • Collaborate with the archive and pharmacy departments to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Perform administrative tasks related to specialist clinics, including ensuring support for the organization of clinics and active participation in assisting health professionals.
  • Manage appointments with our organization's tools and verify and manage incoming emails in the shared inbox.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma.
  • One (1) year of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of medical terminology to prepare documents and reports.
  • Knowledge of the MSSS Network and administrative regulations.
  • Good knowledge of routine office work and Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and spoken).
  • Practical, attentive to detail, and analytical.
  • Teamwork skills and well-organized.
Language
  • Fluent in Cree and English.
  • Fluency in French is an asset.
Other
  • May be required to work occasionally extra hours outside of the regular shift for the clinic of specialists.
  • May be required to travel occasionally within the Mistissini pole to support specialized services.
