Manufacturing Engineer Role

As a Manufacturing Engineer at Siemens Energy, you will maintain knowledge of manufacturing processes used by Siemens-Energy for selection and deployment of methods that consistently meet engineering requirements.

You will be part of the Technical Services engineering team in Montreal, working on all Aeroderivative Gas Turbine products: SGT-A65, SGT-A45, SGT-A35 and power turbines.

Your responsibilities will extend to ensuring the integrity of products is maintained in new build and in repair & overhaul through qualification of processes and sentencing deviations within a unionized environment.

You will lead improvements to manufacturing processes to reduce costs while maintaining a high level of quality.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Prioritize and resolve daily issues related to assembly and disassembly methods, tooling, inspection techniques / requirements, special equipment, and engine test.
  2. Sentence non-conformance reports within delegated authority and seek approval from specialists when required.
  3. Represent the Technical Services team in meetings at different levels of the Operations organization, Quality meetings, and meetings discussing corrective / preventive measures.
  4. Create, maintain and/or govern elements of the Technical Package (Process and Part Qualification including First Article Inspection) which clearly define the assembly process and administer effective change control in line with applicable quality system and requirements.
  5. Develop capabilities including people, processes, technology, and tools to meet current and future business requirements consistent with the global strategy.
  6. Lead or support continuous improvement activities to improve quality, turnaround time and cost reduction.
  7. Lead Corrective Action / Preventive Action process for investigations in major quality issues, such as test bed engine return and provide support to minor quality issues.
