Revolutionize the mining industry with MineSense, a trailblazing Canadian company at the forefront of cleantech innovation. We're seeking an exceptional Sr. II Controls Engineer (Instrumentation) to join our Engineering team in Vancouver.

Key Responsibilities:
  • PLC Program Development: Utilize expert-level proficiency to design and implement IEC 61131-3 standard PLC programs and interactive user interfaces.
  • Cross-Functional Project Leadership: Oversee cross-functional projects to identify and document system/unit root cause and failure analysis using industry-standard processes and best practices.
  • Controls System Design: Lead the design, specification, and verification of controls system components (hardware and software).
  • Project Management: Collaborate with senior management and cross-functional teams to delegate tasks, ensure timely project completion, and meet quality standards.
  • Procedure Development: Develop and maintain production procedures, instructions, and testing standards aligned with current best practices.
Lab Testing & Commissioning:
  • Lead projects evaluating component and sub-assembly performance through network, electrical, mechanical, and environmental test phases.
  • Initiate software/hardware system integration and commissioning efforts.
Mentoring & Coaching:
  • Provide expert technical guidance and coaching to multi-disciplinary colleagues and fellow engineers by connecting technical expertise to business outcomes.
  • Conduct regular peer reviews and offer thought leadership throughout the engineering team to ensure knowledge transfer.
Requirements:
  • A 4-year degree in a relevant electrical discipline (e.g., Controls Systems, Electrical, Electronics, or similar).
  • 6-8+ years of experience in controls, electrical, instrumentation, or a relevant field.
  • Expert-level proficiency with PLC or embedded system programming.
  • Proficiency with Ethernet Networking and industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, OPC, EthernetIP).
  • Experience designing and troubleshooting control panels and printed circuit board design (PCB).
  • CODESYS and HMI design experience is an asset.

We offer a competitive salary range of $125,000 - $135,000 per year, based on experience, knowledge, skills, and market data for the location.
