About the Role

We are looking for an experienced drywall installer who can work independently and as part of a team to install and finish drywall sheets in commercial and residential settings. The successful candidate will have excellent physical fitness and be able to lift heavy materials.

Responsibilities
  • Cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners
  • Fabricate and install suspended metal ceiling grids and place in panels to form acoustical and coffered ceilings
  • Fills joints, nail indentations, holes and cracks with joint compound using trowel and broad knife
  • Finishes corners and angles and creates decorative designs in finish coat, if required
  • Measures, cuts, fits and installs drywall sheets
  • Positions and secures sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists
  • Tapes over joints using taping machine and embeds tape in compound
  • Installs vapour barriers and thermal and sound insulation
Requirements
  • 1-2 years of experience in drywall installation
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Ability to work at heights and in dusty environments
  • Physical stamina to perform manual labour for extended periods
