Job Summary

We're seeking a skilled Millwright to join our maintenance team. As a Millwright - Maintenance Specialist, you'll be responsible for performing routine maintenance checks, bearing housing checks, mechanical seal checks, and other tasks to ensure the smooth operation of our equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance checks on all rotational equipment
  • Conduct bearing housing checks
  • Inspect mechanical seals
  • Tighten flanges
  • Install and remove blinds
  • Isolate and prepare equipment for maintenance work, including lockout & bump testing
  • Clean equipment to remove staining and aid in leak detection
  • Change-out filters
  • Work at a SAGD site in northern Alberta

Requirements

  • Interprovincial Industrial Mechanic or Millwright Journeyman Certificate (Red Seal)
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in mechanical industrial testing or Millwright/Mechanical Industrial maintenance and/or related commissioning experience
  • Ability to work in both office and operational plant environments
  • Valid driver's license in Canada, with good standing
  • Must speak, read, and write in English
  • Willing to travel for work (FIFO)

Skills

  • Read blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures
  • Dismantle machinery or equipment using hand tools and power tools
  • Move machinery and equipment using hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks
  • Assemble and install equipment, such as shafting, conveyors, and tram rails
  • Align machines and equipment using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers, lasers, and plumb bobs
  • Assemble machinery and bolts, welds, rivets, or otherwise fasten them to foundation or other structures
  • Operate engine lathe or milling machine to grind, file, and turn machine parts to dimensional specifications
  • Repair and lubricate machinery and equipment
  • Select cables, ropes, chains, pulleys, winches, blocks, and sheaves according to weight and size of load to be moved
  • Attach load with grappling devices, such as loops, wires, ropes, and chains, to crane hook
  • Set up, brace, and rig hoisting equipment using hand tools and power wrenches
  • Direct workers engaged in hoisting of machinery and equipment
  • Work within precise limits or standards of accuracy
  • Visualize and interpret flat drawings or pictures
  • Use logical step-by-step procedures in work
  • Plan work and solve problems
  • Make decisions based on measurable information
  • Perform a variety of duties that may change often
