Verafin, a leading software company in the financial industry, is seeking a talented Software Developer (Data Integration) to join their team in St. John's or Toronto.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data integration, with experience in designing and implementing technical solutions using AWS, Postgres, Java, Scala, and Unix Utilities.

The primary responsibility of this role is to migrate data from customers' core banking systems into the Verafin application, ensuring seamless integration and high-quality data.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement data normalization and ingestion solutions in AWS.
  • Develop a strategy for data flows to meet the requirements of the Verafin application.
  • Provide exceptional customer service skills and the ability to explain technical solutions and issues to non-technical customers.

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

  • University degree or college diploma in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
  • 2-5 years development experience is required for this role.
  • Strong analytical skills for complex and creative problem solving.
  • Experience in object-oriented software development (Java).
  • Experience with Database technologies (PostgresSQL).
  • Automated testing.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills; able to work closely with team members.
  • 'Customer first' attitude - always putting the customer's needs first.
